For active-duty military meetings, special rates are offered for the Classroom and the Board Room.

Room fees are waived for groups of 15 or more who cater their meals through the Over There Café and schedule a group tour for attendees.

Military Commissioning and Promotion ceremonies can be scheduled for no charge, in certain circumstances.

Ceremonies may be scheduled at no charge on the Memorial Courtyard, North Terrace, South Plaza or in Exhibit Hall at the Museum and Memorial when complying with the following guidelines:

  • Only clients who are currently active in the military will receive complimentary bookings in these locations for the purposes of commission and promotion ceremonies.
  • Ceremonies must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. There is no guarantee that space will be available without prior written confirmation by the National WWI Museum and Memorial.
  • The organization must set up any items including chairs, tables, flags, etc. Because these are complimentary rentals, Museum staff is not available for set-up and tear-down.
  • Ceremonies may not last longer than one hour, and if held in Exhibit Hall, ceremonies must be completed by 4:30 p.m.
  • Clients may book spaces outside of the above mentioned for a rental fee.

The Museum's Over There Café provides catering services for breakfast, lunch, dinner and receptions. Clients renting event or meeting spaces may contact the Café for more information.

A/V equipment and capabilities vary by room, from microphones and set up for presentations, to simulcast capabilities in the Auditorium.

Weddings and wedding-related events are allowed in some spaces. Please reach out to the Events Department at eventspace@theworldwar.org for more information.

Proposals and gender reveals are allowed on property if the following guidelines are met:

  • Gathering of 10 people or less. Hosting more than 10 people is considered an event rental.
  • No silk flowers. White, real flowers only if on the Courtyard or North Terrace.
  • Battery-powered candles only. No real flame.
  • Marquee letters are not allowed.
  • Confetti is not allowed.
  • Only biodegradable balloons are allowed.

Please be respectful of the grounds and clean up after your gathering. Thank you.
