Traffic Advisory: Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026

Due to a planned special event hosted on the grounds by the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, please note the following changes in access and parking at the National WWI Museum and Memorial on Saturday, Aug. 22.

  • ✅ The Museum and Memorial is OPEN from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    🕛 Museum guests may park on the U-Shaped Drive if departing before noon.

    🚫 Starting at noon, the following roads will be closed for the day: Kessler Road, Memorial Drive, U-Shaped Drive, 29th Street and Wyandotte Street.

  • 🚊 Parking is not available onsite after 12 p.m. We encourage Museum guests to park along the KC Streetcar route and get a free ride to the “WWI Museum & Memorial” stop.

    🏌🏻 Alternatively, take the KC Streetcar to the “Union Station” stop, then walk to the corner of Kessler and Pershing. From 12-5 p.m., shuttles will be available to guests visiting the Museum (only).

  • ♿ ADA parking is available at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's Visitor Lot (accessible via 31st and Wyandotte).

    🌭 Questions about the special event should be directed to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
