The Long Road to Peace: Enter the Peace Broker

Author/professors Jennifer Keene and Jay Sexton will proceed in conversation with Sir Strachan’s questions and share their insights into President Woodrow Wilson’s vision for peace, the U.S. military's preparedness in 1917 and domestic reactions to U.S. entry into the war.


Join renowned World War I historians Sir Hew Strachan, Professor Jay Sexton and Professor Jennifer Keene for a podcast to kickoff the Museum’s centennial symposium 1917: America Joins the Fight. Presenters will discuss President Woodrow Wilson’s vision for peace, the U.S. military's preparedness in 1917 and domestic reactions to U.S. entry into the war. Attendees will enjoy audio clips from ChromeRadio’s podcast drama Enter the Peace Broker which incorporates contemporary diaries, letters, newspaper reports and WWI songs made with the support from the Rothermere Foundation. Sir Hew Strachan (Chair) is Professor of International Relations, University of St Andrews, and was formerly Chichele Professor of the History of War, University of Oxford. Professor Jay Sexton is Kinder Institute Chair in Constitutional Democracy, University of Missouri. Professor Jennifer Keene is Chair, Department of History, Chapman University.
