Annual Fund 2009

Annual Fund 2010

What a journey! Just a few years ago we were in the throes of building a new museum and completing a major restoration of the Memorial. Today we are an award-winning, nationally designated museum. We are internationally acclaimed for the quality of our state-of-the-art exhibitions. We have welcomed more than one million visitors in three short years, and are celebrating our 50,000th student visit this fall. It has been exciting to watch this extraordinary growth.

Although the economic times have been challenging, we continue to move ahead. Our 2009 accomplishments created a solid foundation for the future. We completed a six-year Strategic Plan; successfully raised support for a major NEH Challenge Grant for endowments; worked on programs and important legislation for the WWI Centennial; enhanced the overall visitor experience; strengthened our operational infrastructure; and moved forward in many other ways.

Your support has made this possible. Your enthusiasm for the Museum & Memorial, and your continued financial support, has allowed us to accomplish these important initiatives and move forward in countless other ways. Thank you so much for helping us.

It will be even more exciting as we take our next steps forward. The Strategic Plan calls for us to make the Museum experience the best possible, grow our artifact collections, create a strong financial base, build continued awareness, increase attendance, position the Museum nationally and continue to make the Museum pre-eminent.

We still need your help. Your financial support is more important than ever. Please consider a gift to help us meet our ongoing needs. Each gift is important, and whether large or small, it helps us reach our goal of becoming one of the great institutions of its kind in the world. And please, whether this is your first visit or your tenth – come and experience the Museum & Memorial soon.

Sincerely,

Brian Alexander
President & CEO
