The Great War Through the Eyes of Those Who Lived It
The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial provides an extraordinary experience. The state-of-the-art Museum gives you the chance to explore and discover the nation’s most extensive assembly of artifacts, photography, art and narratives of the Great War ever presented in a single collection. The Museum introduces the war in unprecedented ways – through visual and audio sensory stimulation to mold an unforgettable experience in the minds of all visitors – young and old.

Hours of Operation
The National World War I Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Liberty Memorial Tower, Memory Hall and Exhibit Hall close at 4:30 p.m.
The Museum is closed Mondays, except for major holidays. The Museum will be open on these holiday Mondays in 2010: January 18 (Martin Luther King Day), February 15 (Presidents Day), May 31 (Memorial Day), July 5, September 6 (Labor Day), October 11 (Columbus Day). The Museum is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day. Please note that the Museum and Memorial will be closed on Saturday, May 15 for a special event.

Friends of the National World War I Museum, Active Duty Military, Career Military (20+ years service) and kids five and under are free.
Tickets allow guests access to all galleries, special exhibits and the Liberty Memorial Tower. Tickets may be used on two consecutive days. If purchased Sunday, the second day is Tuesday.
We accept cash, money orders, travelers checks, organizational checks and MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.
The Museum is handicapped accessible. We have a limited number of wheelchairs available for free on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note that to reach the top of the Liberty Memorial Tower, visitors must ride an elevator and then climb 45 stairs.
Free parking is located on the south side of the complex.

Research Center Hours
The research library and collections are available to the public for research use. The library is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The collections are available for research use by appointment with the Museum Archivist at (816) 784-1932 or the Museum Curator at (816) 784-1930.
