Speakers have included such recognized scholars and authors as Edward Coffman, Niall Ferguson, Robert Ferrell, Sir Martin Gilbert, Sir John Keegan, Margaret Macmillan and Jay Winter.

“The Great War, The Great Movies” Film Series
Theatrical films that relate to World War I – from silent films to recent Hollywood epics – span almost the entire history of motion pictures. Screenings are accompanied with brief introductions by historians and subject matter specialists.

Military Collectors Fair
Held annually in March in association with the Kansas City Military Collectors Club, this gathering of area collectors for one day brings to the Museum a remarkable array of privately held treasures for public display.

Concerts
Popular and classical music inspired by World War I performed live. Performances have ranged from professional musicians of the Kansas City Symphony to enthusiastic amateurs of the Kansas City Ukesters, some two dozen ukulele players with kazoos!

Special events and pop-up educational opportunities – university courses, workshops, and relevant public programs presented by our partners – can also be discovered at the Museum.
