Research Opportunities
The Research Center of the National World War I Museum welcomes all those interested in learning more about the Great War. Researchers have access to the Museum’s 60,000 archival documents and three-dimensional objects and its nearly 6,000 library titles.
Public Research Room
The Public Research Room is the Museum’s resource library of primary and secondary texts, periodicals, scholarly journals and the institutional records of Liberty Memorial Association.
The Public Research Room is located on the Museum complex’s lower level. From the Museum Store, go down the lobby through the glass doors to the West elevator. Take the elevator to the “B” level. Follow the corridor signs to the double glass doors, across from the magnificent base of the Memorial Tower.
Patrons should sign in at the attendant’s desk and are encouraged to browse the Public Research Room’s holdings. When doing research, please take notes using pencil and paper or a laptop computer. Photocopies of library and archival materials can be made by the attendant.
The Public Research Room also offers an intimate, ground-level view of the symbolic poppy field.
Hours
Tuesday—Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Archival and Museum Collections Access
