Volunteer

Volunteers Make the Difference!

Volunteers play a vital role in the operation of the National World War I Museum. The Museum relies on the dedication and commitment of more than 150 volunteers each year.  Volunteers contribute many hours of service, sharing their knowledge, skills and talents throughout the Museum. We accept volunteers age 16 and up who are interested in working at least 8 hours per month. Schedules are flexible. Volunteer shifts are generally 3 to 4 hours long (10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 1 to 5 p.m.), and the Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday.

All volunteers must complete a basic orientation and on the job training. Specialized areas will require additional training.

Volunteer Benefits:

• 20% Discount in Museum Store and 25% Discount in Over There Café

• Invitations to special exhibits and events

• Free family membership after 100 hours of service

• Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner and other volunteer events

The National World War I Museum offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. Every effort will be made to place a volunteer in the desired area, but keep in mind that sometimes we need volunteers more in some areas than in others.
