Protection Officer

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have completed recognized Missouri, Kansas, or Federal Law Enforcement Police Academy. High School diploma or equivalent. No less than two years prior private security or law enforcement experience. Not have any Felony Conviction or Misdemeanor Conviction for Domestic Violence. Possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Possess reliable transportation and working home or cellular phone. Must qualify for KCMO Private Security Class “A” Armed Commission. Candidate must meet KCMO Private Officer’s Firearms Qualification and annual Re-qualification. Professional Appearance and Demeanor. Be capable of communicating effectively in English. Be capable of maintaining confidentiality of all information received. Be capable of working independently with minimum direct supervision. Effective verbal and written communications skills. Have an honorable discharge, if there was prior military service. Be able to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Description/Wage Information:
Reports To Director of Facilities Management. Protects Staff, Visitors, and Museum Assets. Responds to Alarm and Emergency calls for service. Responds to First Aid and Medical Emergency Calls. Provides Protection Officer presence at official functions and special events as needed or as arise. Maintains necessary proficiency with duty Firearm and associative duty gear. Maintains necessary proficiency with Emergency Equipment. Be available to work on assigned 8 or 12 Hr-shifts or as needed. Provides Public Service and Customer Service Presence. Maintains physical fitness for duty. Patrols grounds by both walking and mobile patrol vehicle. Uniforms, Duty firearm and Commission Card provided. Salaried position - Starting $30k annually with benefits.

Seasonal Food & Beverage Staff

The National World War I Museum is seeking a seasonal cook/cashier to work in our cafe.

The successful candidate will have exceptional customer service skills, a positive, team-oriented attitude, and be able to work weekends and holidays. Computer aptitude is also desired.

Two years of experience in food preparation is preferred. This is a seasonal position with daytime hours (10-20 hrs per week) that will vary according to our business.
