Education Central to Museum's Mission
The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial, the only United States museum solely dedicated to this global conflict, provides a unique opportunity to study the Great War. The Museum’s significant historical collections of original objects,
primary documents and reference works pertain to all the combatant nations, not merely the American story, and are available to all educators and students of history.
From these collections comes the inspiration for the Museum’s rich array of educational programs that engage diverse audiences and tie these past events to our present lives. Many of these learning opportunities are presented on-site, as well as through partnerships with other organizations.
Available to educators are a number of educationally complete, thought provoking lesson plans, classroom materials and learning opportunities that share our story of World War I with others. Educational materials have been written with state and national standards in mind and can be sent worldwide at no charge upon request to the Museum’s Education Coordinator.
